Meet the Founder
The beginning
I believe in that the outdoors has the power to bring people together and help them grow while also turning my passion for working with children into a valuable service for families.
It started small — helping at the local sailingclub where I learned the importance of patience, responsibility, and creating safe, engaging experiences for young people.
Later it turned into coaching as well as well as helping out in nurseries.
The adventure abroad
The adventurous spirit in me took over at one point and a move abroad brought new challenges with new environment, new people and there was many times I wondered wether I had taken on a bit too much . It was not easy and I had to start on the bottom and work my way up, but I worked through it by spending years in the outdoor industry and working 3 winters in the alps as a skinanny which I asolutely loved.
Overcoming challenges
When Covid hit I thought my world was crashing down completely and there was no way out and I know I was not the only one. I had an amazing workplace lined up, but the outdoor work dried out and I found myself helping out in nurseries again. This was yet another moment when I wondered if I was going to see the other side of it , but it was after covid where the watersport work took over for most over the year while I worked winters in the nurseries so actually it all worked out really well.

Dream come true

Going back and forth in between watersports and nurseries made me even more determined that I wanted to be my own boss one day. The turning point was when I had some more realisations of not being myself and a person I knew told me "you are more than capable of owning your own company". It had already been a dream for a while and by then the idea started fully taken form.

It took me to finish my Early years educator course and a few more moments of not being myself to finalize the idea of Miks Adventures and to make the dream fully come true.
